MINUTES:

Motion to approve previous meeting minutes by John Thomas, 2nd  By Ron Brock.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

MABAS email about missing propane cylinders in suburban area.  There have been reports of municipal cars broken into and books  or papers inside have been taken.  Be careful when parking your municipal cars at night or during duty.

 

TREASURER REPORT:

The checking account has $2,320.87, the money market has $2,904.04, the CD has $4,004.02, equals $9,228.93.  Motion by  2nd John Thomas by Ralph Turner to accept treasurers’ report.

Dues not received Dolton, Lynwood, and Markham.

 

TRAINING:

John Thomas passed out some standards material that Tinley pasted out in 1998.  We may want to have some standards set for SMART municipalities.

 

Spotters training 4/18 Hazel Crest Village Hall 170th & Holmes 19:00.

 

Tinley Park requested to be the test site for Grant application for train the trainer stuff.

 

Bob Small & John Thomas attended meeting for Public Safety committee of SSMMA.  Sites were determined to have medication (oral meds) in case needed, but the sites weren’t disclosed at the meeting.  Will county is going through the same process and now are planning what sites to use.  There was a big discussion of how this will all happen.

 

There was an inquiry about a 1st aid class.  If anyone is planning a 1st Aid or First Responders course let us know.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

A SMART page was sent Monday about 15:05 & Thursday at about 10:10 to alphanumeric pagers & NEXTELs.

CC Hills didn’t get Thursday page.

 

EQUIPMENT:

Keep John Dobner updated on changes of, phone numbers, Vehicles, equipment, PAGERS, NEXTEL’s etc.

 

John handed out SMART equipment updates to communities present.

March 15, 16 There is a 2 day Ground search and rescue class.  Will county has a trainer if we need him to do a class (16 hours).

 

March 26 there was training on nuclear at Dresdon.

 

Topoff is in May Will County will be helping out.

IESMA (Illinois Emergency Services Management Association):

Conference in April?

 

IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency):

Conference is September 3rd, 4th, & 5th 2003 in Springfield at the Crown Plaza.

New director of IEMA and the conference should be going on again.

 

RED CROSS LIAISON:

No Report

 

Members Status:

Orland Hills sent check.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

Readyness review most towns responded.

 

ID card machine has been purchased.  John passed out some samples.  We will need to decide a style.  John also needs all the pictures for the ID’s.

 

Read the by-laws change table by John Dobner 2nd by Ron Brock.

 

John hasn’t any more information on DeVry.

 

Directors will get a copy of SMART page info to use.

 

SMART seminar come up with some ideas.

 


NEW BUSINESS:

The US Open is in Olympia Fields June 9-16th hours are 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.  The New Greater Chicago Auto auction will be the public parking area.  Volmer Rd between Kedzie & Western will be closed.

 

Sandy has a motor home he can get that needs work.
