MINUTES:
Motion to approve previous meeting minutes by Jeff Schoeling, 2nd by John Thomas.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Mail from John Dobner space is running out on the SMART Web site. Motion to spend no more then $50.00 to increase WEB space by Mike Pope 2nd by James Bibbs.
TREASURER REPORT:
The checking account has $418.54, the money market has $3,716.19, the CD has $2914.47, and the total of all accounts equals $7,049.20.
Motion by John Thomas 2nd by Steve Vick to accept treasurers’ report.
TRAINING:
Jim Dean has information on Traffic flagging class. This class is offered totally free.
Jim Dean passed out Homeland security update.
Jim Dzurny has gone through the CERT Train the Trainer classes this was 20 hours.
COMMUNICATIONS:
A SMART page was sent Thursday at 10:30 AM to alphanumeric pagers & NEXTEL phones. The only failures were to Peotone. ARCH has changed the PIN number access so further testing will be done.
Interoperability or V-TAC channels, YES some people are currently licensed on these channels. They are to get off these channels. You can license base stations on some frequencies and portables on others. These are basically COMMAND & CONTROL ONLY.
V-Call = 155.7525
V-Tac1 = 151.1375
V-Tac2 = 154.4525
V-Tac3 = 158.7375
V-Tac4 = 159.4725
These frequencies are to be controlled by IEMA.
MBAS meeting on 7/9/03 stated that IFERN2 (154.3025) is now a new frequency to be used by Fire Departments. Small will have more info on this next month (hopefully). Also there are more Fire Ground frequencies coming.
Some other frequencies you need to know about are NIFERN 154.265, and East COM 154.235.

Keep us updated on changes of, phone numbers, Vehicles, equipment, PAGERS, NEXTEL’s etc.

Bill Dorgan from Cook County EMA was in attendance and he spoke about sending information on Weather radio.
There will be a fax coming next week requesting updates on ESDA info.

Bill Ferguson has been elected ISEMA Regional Vice President representing Region 5.
Will County is Storm ready certified again along with Bolingbrook.
Fire department requested a GSAR course; since state does train this any more, Will County did the training.
Exercise design course this week.
Prescription distribution plan is still being trained.
Health Department thought the Will County plan was done well so they adopted it too.
Will warn radios are in EOC’s and there are about 23 radios out all together in Will County.

RED CROSS LIAISON:
There was a Micro burst in Chicago Ridge that Red Cross responded to.
Chicago had storm related problems on the south side, and Red Cross provided clothing and sheltering.
They were also involved in the porch collapse tragedy.
Member/Membership Status:
Introduced ourselves around the room cause Roger wanted us to.
OLD BUSINESS:
John Ranieri thanked all the folks that helped at the Richton Park train derailment.
Bill Potocki thanked the people that responded to the wake and funeral in of the soldier in Manhattan. Bill needs to know the names of all the people that attended.

Training standards, Jim Dzurny again passed around copies of Tinley Parks training standards. All agreed that some standards are necessary for SMART members. Jim will try and customize it to the needs of SMART.
NEW BUSINESS:
Nextel nation wide is up and running. Nextel says you should pay, but as government you shouldn’t have to.
