MINUTES:

Motion to approve previous meeting minutes by Sandy Patlak, 2nd by John Thomas.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

ISEMA network brochure April in Stoney Creek.

 

TREASURER REPORT:

The checking account has $1466.43, the money market has $4,228.91, the CD has $2923.84, and the total of all accounts equals $8619.18. Deposited $500.00 in checking account $880 in Money Market.

Motion by Jeff Schoeling 2nd by John Ranieri to accept treasurers’ report.

 

TRAINING:

Training standards meeting results.  Jim Dzurny passed out a revised training standard.  Level 1 should read training committee instead of Coordinator.

Level 2 & 3 has been modified.  It was agreed we needed to change the wording to be more flexible to communities.  Motion to amend the level 1 sheet by John Ranieri 2nd by Joe Kouba.

 

Cook County shelter operation workshop in Buffalo Grove 1/20 9:00 AM till noon.

 

Tinley Park weather spotters class in January, February 6th is Radiological monitor course.  Tinley Park will be hosting Severe weather class in March.

 

Jim Dzurny passed out a training coordinator responsibility list.

 

Training Committee consists of Jim Dzurny Chair, Art Johnson, and Roger Mumford.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

A SMART page was sent Thursday afternoon about 16:00 and Thursday about 17:35 to alphanumeric pagers & NEXTEL phones.  John Levon didn’t receive the page.

 

New radios need to be narrow banding 12.5 mhz radios need to ESAMR 155.025 d662 normal Cook County 153.815 d662 normal.

 

After January 1, 2004 FCC won’t approve 25 mhz licensing.  Licensing needs to be for 12.5.

Keep us updated on changes of, phone numbers, Vehicles, equipment, PAGERS, NEXTEL’s, email etc.

Harold says things have been busy.  Involved with a lot of terrorism issues.

Homeland security has been divided into regions.  Adding shelters and involved with Red Cross.

New Lenox had cable cut and 9-1-1 out of service and Will County van was there.

 

LEGISLATIVE LIAISON:

Nothing at all.

 

IESMA (Illinois Emergency Services Management Association):

Conference will be April 14th in East Peoria.

 

IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency):

Next years conference is September 7th, 8th, & 9th 2004 in Springfield at the Crown Plaza.

 

RED CROSS LIAISON:

No report

 

Member/Membership Status:

Nothing to report on.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

SMART holiday party is December 11th 19:30 at Babbino’s in Steger.

 

Meeting Calender for 2004 has been finalized.  January meeting not being held cause of lack of offers.

 

Sauk Village Firefighters association is sponsoring a Bowling tournament.  The event will be held January 10th & 11th.

 

Oak Forest Fire Department received a grant for $225,000, $51,000 will be used to outfit an old ambulance for interoperability by the EMA organization.

 

Mike Pope has retired from Chicago Heights Fire Department and David Troiani is the replacement.

 

John Thomas South Holland ESDA is selling a 1977 Fire truck.

 

Motion to except Crete into the SMART organization by John Ranieri 2nd by Ralph Turner.

 

By-Laws amendment change to pay for some training and move the geographic boundaries of SMART, motion by Joe Kouba 2nd by David Goodwine.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Next meeting is in Lynwood at 7:30 PM (probably the Senior Center next south of Village Hall)
