MABAS held a statewide seminar in Springfield John Ranieri & Bob Small attended.  The attitude of the Fire Departments towards EMA is very good.  There are NEW Fire ground frequencies red, white, and blue you need to be updated in your radios.  Bob Small will inform every one of the frequencies.

If you need radios programmed you may want to talk to your Fire Chief about having yours re-done too.

If you respond with Fire Department then you can get the frequencies without applying for a license.

RED CROSS LIAISON:

Red Cross brought their communication vehicle to the meeting.  We went outside to check it out we were all impressed.  Ford donated 10 Excursions to Red Cross for emergency communication response.  The vehicles can provide telephone & internet service, JPS.

They would like to have your frequencies in case they respond to your community.  They will need a letter to add the frequencies.

They will respond within a 400 mile radius of disaster, but can go nation wide.

Member/Membership Status:

Nothing to report on.

OLD BUSINESS:

IESMA is supposed to put out facemasks.  You will need to pick them up at a distribution point.

Dolton asked about Insurance and using your vehicle.  Don’t pick up people carrying gas cans.  Can’t push vehicles with ESDA vehicles unless they have push bumpers.  Just remember each community has their own rules.

NEW BUSINESS:

The funeral for the police officer had 560 police cars.

We should have maps of communities with good directions.   Could we use MABAS map books?  Sam’s club has 7 county maps for about $23.00.  Would this satisfy the request?

CAP pictures were stopped between Cook County & State.  They still have training flights to do in next few months.  They could do about a dozen a month.
