MINUTES:

Motion to approve previous meeting minutes by Jeff Schoeling, 2nd by Jim Dean.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

Jack Leddin Coordinator of Orland Hills died.

 

Bob Gibson’s wife died in an auto accident Tuesday.

 

TREASURER REPORT:

The May 31, 2004 balance in the checking account is $893.14, the money market has $4,755.81 the CD has $2939.16, the total of all accounts equals $8,588.11.  Didn’t receive the July statements so gave May report again.

Motion by Jim Dean 2nd by John Ranieri to accept treasurers’ report.

 

TRAINING:

Jim Dzurny has received training agreements back from some of the  communities. The following haven’t sign one as of yet; Lynwood, Mokena, New Lenox, Oak Forest & Orland Hills.

 

Hometown will host a flagging class Saturday September 18.  The cost is free and the instructor would like at least 50 people.

 

Jim Dean talked about the NOAA publication “Aware”.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

A SMART page was sent Thursday to alphanumeric pagers & NEXTEL phones.

John Thomas, Ralph Turner, and Mary Read said they didn’t receive the page on Nextel.

 

Bob Small is researching tower space on the Cook County tower.

 

All communities should make sure they have PL 107.2 on 155.025 transmit side.

 

Bob Small would like a list of Ham radio operators and call sign in each ESDA.

Chief of Haz-mat team has retired.  So they are looking for a replacement.

 

Joliet had 450 structures damaged during the last storm.  EMA assisted in all the events.

 

FEMA isn’t giving any money to Joliet.

 

Tropicana 400 race at Joliet speed way has made the Will County EOC activated.

 

Joliet is constructing a new 9-1-1 center.

 

LEGISLATIVE LIAISON:

IESMA (Illinois Emergency Services Management Association):

 

 

IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency):

This years conference is September 7th, 8th, & 9th 2004 in Springfield at the Crown Plaza.  Make reservations early.

 

New State EOC is to be constructed and scheduled for completion in 2006.

Member/Membership Status:

Homer Glen is filling out the forms to join SMART.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

MTS will do patches design however you wish.

 

Jim Dzurny has ordered the accommodation pins for those progressing through the training regimen.  Let Jim know when pins are needed for your organization.

 

Roger reminded everyone about ESDA fest and parade on August 22.

 

Sauk Village Fire Bash carnival is July 22 – 25 needs security and traffic assistance.  Call Art on his pager 708/718-9359 if you can help.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

John Ranieri knows someone that does radio installation if you are looking for someone.

 

Pat Maloney has retired from Sauk Village ESDA as of July 1st.  Art Johnson has been name as the Sauk Village Coordinator.  Congratulations ARTY.

 

Mike Tryon from Midlothian will be hosting the August meeting.  Mike said the meeting will be held at Kenootz pizza 4648 W. 147th Street Midlothian.

Midlothian has acquired a 1989 Astro Van.  It was confiscated in a drug seizure.

 

Peotone thanked all the towns that helped out at their tractor fest.
