TREASURER REPORT:

The February balance in the checking account is $1001.13, the money market has $4,743.97 the CD has $2931.49, the total of all accounts equals $8,676.59.

Motion by Jim Dzurny 2nd by James Bibbs to accept treasurers’ report.

 

TRAINING:

Jim Dzurny sent out the training agreement and has only received 4 back.

 

Homeland Security info handed out by Jim Dzurny.

 

CERT training schedule handed out by Dzurny.

 

Conference Midwest emergency preparedness in Rockford.

 

CERT home study course is available.

 

Weather classes are still available.

 

Country Club Hills congratulated Jim Dzurny and his staff for CERT training.

 

Train The Trainer for CERT is April 29th.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

A SMART page was sent Wednesday about 12:35 and Thursday at 13:45 to alphanumeric pagers & NEXTEL phones.

 

Roger Mumford doesn’t have pager any more use his Nextel.

 

ESMARN with DPL 662N is not to be used for non-emergency.  Our PL is there for SMART use only.  Use the non PL ESMARN for whatever you want.  Traffic was heard on the ESMARN (SMART) PL parking cars.

 

RELM has 99 channel radios on the web at reasonable prices. James Bibbs said he called and they are dealing the radios.

Bill Durgan, nothing new to report.  Check the calendar for weather training 3/15 Bridgeview, 3/25 Cal City.

 

Nothing new on emergency frequency, Bill will check.

 

Shelter Operations will be held in Cook.

 

WILL COUNTY: www.willcountyema.org

Weather spotters 3/17 10:00 at Will County.

 

Shelter operations Thursday 7:00 PM call the office.

 

LEGISLATIVE LIAISON:

Law enforcement line of service death benefit raised. Jim Dean will have further info later.

 

IESMA (Illinois Emergency Services Management Association):

Conference will be April 14th –16th in East Peoria.  Filling up all ready and no information out yet.

 

IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency):

This years conference is September 7th, 8th, & 9th 2004 in Springfield at the Crown Plaza.

 

RED CROSS LIAISON:

1st aid and CPR classes free in March call 312/907-2008.

 

Member/Membership Status:

Nothing to report on.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

John Thomas handed out info on the mapping books available at Sam’s club.  Let’s make sure our box system is updated/refined.

Steger Sgt will copy disks.

Village of Crete has folding maps. Tabled till next meeting.

 


NEW BUSINESS:

May have reverse 9-1-1 speaker at April meeting.

 

Information handed out on Suburban Purchase cooperative through SSMMA.

 

How do you get elected officials to respond to ESDA/EMA.  Tinley does an activity report.  This is based on the hours put in and what they have done.  They also can track individual member’s hours.

 

Boy Scouts of America have Emergency Preparedness merit badge that they can work on.  It may be another source of membership.
