Motion by Jim Dzurny 2nd by John Ranieri to accept treasurers’ report.

TRAINING:

Jim Dzurny has received training agreements back from the following communities; Chicago Heights, South Holland, Tinley Park, Steger, Rich Township, Thornton, Midlothian, Hometown, Peotone, and Dolton.

CERT class dates for June are Tuesday 1st, Thursday 3rd, Tuesday 8th, Thursday 10th, Tuesday 15th, and Thursday 17th.  Jim also handed out a list of dates to all in attendance.

James Dean has information on IDOT flagger training.  He would like to have a class in July or August.  We need a place to hold the training class.  This is a 3½-hour class and the cost is FREE.

COMMUNICATIONS:

A SMART page was sent Thursday at 17:05 to alphanumeric pagers & NEXTEL phones.

Bob Small would like to research the possibility of a SMART repeater.  (This would be a channel we would use in responding to a mutual aid request.)  The cost of researching the frequencies is $400.00.  If SMART can’t get the repeater there is no charge for the frequency research.  The cost of a repeater would be between $2,000.00 and $2,500.00.  The frequency range would be 150.5 – 158 on the narrow band radios.  Communication committee would meet and decide on the use and where the repeater will be housed.  (Who ever houses’ the repeater will need to maintain it too.)

Motion by Jeff Schoeling to spend up to $3,500 to have repeater research and purchase done 2nd by James Dean.  2 opposed motion.
