Motion to approve November meeting minutes by Jeff Schoeling 2nd by John Thomas.

TREASURER REPORT:

SMART account at First United Bank.

The checking has $2,512.28 savings has $1,581.73, and the money market 1/4ly statement has $2,719.16 totals $6,813.17. Motion by James Bibbs 2nd by Art Johnson to accept treasurers’ report.

Paid: Blue Island, Cook County, Crestwood, Dolton, Hometown, Lynwood, Markham, Mokena, Oak Forest, Rich Township, Richton Park, Riverdale, Sauk Village, South Holland, Thornton, and Tinley Park.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Bob Small sent a SMART page at 11:19. If you didn’t get the page then you may not be on the SMART call, or Bob needs your PIN number.

Jim Dean had a talk with an AT&T technician and the technician said that every time you use the cable override you need to log that you did.

Jim Dean has information on Survey on emergency operating center.

EQUIPMENT:

Be sure to give all equipment updates to John Dobner including telephone number and pager changes. If department heads change John also needs to know that.

John Dobner will have new listing soon, give John Dobner your last minute updates ASAP.

STATE REGION 4:

Has training calendars available.

E-Outage is coming along but not yet available.

Emergency Operations plans, would like to put together a meeting to help communities get their plan together. A meeting will be schedule at Tinley Park.

WILL COUNTY:

Crete ESDA is interested in possibly joining SMART. Harold has been talking with them.

Legislative Liaison:

In veto session now, no news.

RED CROSS:

Yvette has responsibility for the areas East of Harlem Avenue. James Fubanks has responsibility for the areas West of Harlem Avenue.

OLD BUSINESS:

Voting for 4th director

Ballots made up for John Thomas and Bob Windberg.

John Thomas won the election. Move to destroy ballots by Jim Dean & all members.

Motion to accept the revised Mutual Aid Agreement motion by Art Johnson 2nd John Thomas. All accepted.

By-Laws re-write Bob Small and John Dobner discussed some of the changes. Voting on acceptance of the by-laws will be at the February 2001 meeting. Motion by Art Johnson to accept the by-laws as amended 2nd Jim Dean.

Sandy expressed his thanks for John D organizing the dinner.

NEW BUSINESS:

Sandy has a canteen in Dolton that would like to be manned by some one else. Canteen did start with 3rd district fire and now no one is available to man it.

Ham radio classes start the end of February. Call Bob Small to sign-up.

Small got some Publications off the internet at http://www.usta.tema.gov/ustapubs.

Small handed out information on obtaining Metal Halide lights.

Small handed out some 2001 Goals for SMART members sheet.

Chicago Ridge asked if there are ESDA’s that specialize in certain functions. Roger M. went on his Soapbox. Chicago Ridge also wants to know if there is a written procedure to have SMART organization activated. John Dobner said to call himself or Small to sort it out and they’ll page.

Tim is Chairman of ESDA days and will form a committee.
