Jim Fumbanks will keep us informed of updates.
Passport COMMITTEE:
SMART ID Cards will be made by Tinley Park and SMART will pay the costs of material.
Jim Dean has info on Passport system he handed out.
Passport system will be used by us to help identify people that have responded to an incident. This is also a safety factor so no one gets left behind.
Passport system information was passed out by Small. Information included is, how the system is used and the cost of tag identification is included.
Questions we need to have address and decide on in February are as followes:
Who buys boards?
Is each town responsible for individual tags for personal & vehicle?
Will SMART buy the tags and boards and bill the towns?
Will SMART just buy the whole system for all communities?
No matter what towns need to bring roster of members when ordering tags.
OLD BUSINESS:
Communities that have missed 3 consecutive meetings need to have a letter sent to by SMART Secretary.
NEW BUSINESS:
South Holland having pancake breakfast 1/12 to benefit a cancer patient of a fire fighter.
Bob Winberg collecting patches from ESDA groups for volunteerism. Bob also doing patch board for Crestwood. Stone Church is doing a volunteerism information forum 9:00 to 13:00 Jan 12.
Kevin talked about going around the County and talking about a County wide ESDA concept. It may be something similar to MABAS for Fire Department. How do you currently manage a y’all come and show up?
When asking for assistance and requesting equipment. What kind of equipment will you receive? Do we need to try and establish some standards through out the county?
Insurance also is a concern. This is being looked at for these requests.
To get dedicated EMA county frequencies is at least a year away. Currently Cook County EMA requests to use frequencies for use at Cook County events and this seems to be working okay.
ADJOURNED at 21:55 January 10, 2001.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joe Pilch
