COMMUNICATIONS:

Bob Small did a SMART page today at about 12:00.

Small paged for the GSR Swallow Cliff at 6:32. Some people didn’t receive the 1st page. Seems like all did receive the 2nd page for assistance.

Weather 42.5 (Illinois State Police frequency) Hometown receivers have worked in their schools just fine. Tinley Park is not receiving the weather receiver pages. Make sure you are checking with the places that have these receivers. They are tested every Tuesday. If you want to get on board you may want the NOAA radios, cost is cheaper.

EQUIPMENT:

Be sure to give all equipment updates to John Dobner including telephone number and pager changes. If department heads change the SMART information needs to be updated.

SMARTEMA.org will be the new URL to reach the SMART web page.

STATE REGION 4:

Incident Command System (Dan Smith) for ESDA’s was held April 28th, at the Palos Hills Parks & Recreation Center 8455 103rd St. in Palos Park. Class ran from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 46 people attend.

Any articles you want put on the page give to John Pluta, and he’ll get them posted.

May 24th at 7:00 PM Tinley Park will be hosting the Cook County Emergency Operations Plan meeting. If your community doesn’t have a PLAN to put in place the Community has a big liability over their heads. We think there were about 10 sign-up from SMART.

Thanks for responding to Swallow Cliff for GSAR from Kevin.

OLD BUSINESS:

Accountability tags when we are out on mutual aid. Tells what vehicle and who is with the vehicle. One ESDA bought this in 1995 and their cost was between $200-$500. Bob Small has an Internet site contact. Need committee to look into costs etc. Jim Dean, Jeff Schoeling, and Bob Small will handle this task.

Jim Dean has received very little response back from his request. Passport system format will be sent to Jim.

So far the ESDA days tentative plan is to have parade and BBQ. Still planning, once again there is an insurance issue that comes up when we have these non-emergency events.

NEW BUSINESS:

SMART should consider having a SMART chaplain. James Bibbs should be considered for that position.

FEMA had region 5 National Governors association Web site has the book the Police chiefs gave out.

Bob Small talked with Insurance carrier for ERMA. 60% chance to get the same price we had before. Whose name do they use to put a name on it SMART, Mayors & Managers?

Traffic control help in Mokena Saturday 5/12 for a 5k run. Meet at Mokena EOC at 7:30 AM.

Dolton Police chief died and Saturday 5/12 Dolton 9:00 need help.

When functions are being organized give other helpers enough notice.

Roy McDonough update has 2 years of Hospital stays in and out. He isn’t doing to good.
