TRAINING:

Unified command needs to have ESDA included.  Everyone that attended the sessions said they went ok.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Bob Small set off a SMART page Thursday afternoon at before 15:00 to Alpha numeric pagers and Nextel’s.

Cook County frequency to be used as command frequency is 153.815 with a digital PL D662N (N = normal).  Belongs to Cook County Sheriff only used for Incident Command for mobile only.  This is a Command and control frequency.

Everyone needs to change ESMARN (155.025) to have PL D662N.  This will make it easier for our use.  You won’t hear other people on channel only SMART, (until you go off hook).

South Holland is going to be a field support site for South Cook County ESDA.  There are other towns set up in other areas of Cook County to be field support.  Use field support as administrative if you don’t have enough resources.  You call field support and tell them what you need.

Dobner will be changing our web host by June.  This doesn’t change the way you need to access the web site.

EQUIPMENT:

Keep John updated on changes.

If you need the update let John Dobner know.  You will get the updated on disk if you bring disks.

STATE REGION 4:

No Report

COOK COUNTY: www.cookcountysheriff.org

Radio frequencies are a couple tools that Cook is trying to help with.

Resource guides are being packaged and to be sent ASAP.

Last Thursday some units were called to help at Keane & 95th.  Sheriff wanted ESDA to relief their officers.  John Pluta assessed the situation and didn’t think it was necessary for ESDA to respond.  Remember if you call the state when responding to a call Workmen’s Compensation doesn’t kick in.

Shelter management will be done in near future 6 hour class.  Looking for day & night classes.
